The Wholesale Cloth and Merchant Association has urged the state government to allow them to keep their shops open on all days-in place of odd and even system which is being followed even after July 1.The odd and even system has caused immense financial loss to the shop owners. As per terms and conditions announced for the markets, shops should be permitted to function from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 6 pm.They also stated that the traders could not transact any business in the four months of summer.
As a result, the traders have incurred more expenditure than they have earned income during these four months. Due to the restriction on keeping the shops open until 5 pm,the customers cannot make purchases to their liking.Similarly,customers from outside Nagpur also cannot come down to Nagpur for making purchases. Shop owners are following the terms and conditions of lockdown and would continue to do so even if shopping hours are extended.
