In recent days Additional Commissioner (crime), Dr. Nilesh Bharne came forward with an idea to have a job portal where one can apply for employment. He had this plan since the time he indulged himself distributing food among the migrants and needy.
According to the information, till now more than 1500 people seeking jobs have been employed, and hired by the city based giants in the field of construction, realtors, few software companies and even Maha Metro. The companies also include IT companies from Pune, while Mumbai Maha Metro has also been included in the list of companies which are helping those who have lost their income in the period of lock down.
It is informed that a majority of hiring is done by the contractors of Maha Metro of both Nagpur and Mumbai, while a realtor company from Yavatmal has also been actively taking part in this portal.
Talking to TLN, Joseph George, who is associated with the hiring program said “Companies like Hindustan Unilever are hiring for Pune & Mumbai and construction companies from Bandra and Kurla are also asking for employees, for which we will be sending the labors by next week.
Dr Bharne informed TLN, “In total 175 Nagpur based NGO’s, have been working with us from the beginning, when we were aiming at the slums of Nagpur. These NGO’s helped us provide food to the people of slums while we also managed to send the migrants to their hometown. Now, these same NGO’s are using their own contacts, to help provide employment to those who have lost their jobs and helping them earning an income”
