The holy period of Chaturmas will begin from today.It is the time for devotion, penance and spiritual practices. During this occasion, many ceremonies will be performed in the Jain temples of the city. Due to on-going lockdown, grand processions, rituals etc. will not be organised. Guruvar will inaugurate Chaturmas in the presence of office bearers and members of the temple committees. Apart from this, a limited number of devotees will also be able to avail the blessings in the temples. Some temple committees have resorted to social media to reach out the blessings to the masses.
Shri Shwetamber Jain Samaj (West) Nagpur
The Chaturmas of Sadhvirtana Pujyashree Mangalprabhaji Ma Sa Adi Thana 6 will begin in Shaktikumar Sancheti Swadhyaya Bhavan at Congress Nagar. Utmost care will be taken to follow the COVID-19 guidelines during the rainy season. The mass programmes, discourses and processions will not be organized until further notice of the administration.Shri Shwetamber Jain Samaj West Nagpur president Praful Khivansara,Secretary Anand Ostwal,chairman Ajay Sancheti,deputy chairman Vikrambhai Shah, vice chairman Umesh Bhansali,former chairman Rajendra Lodha,Kantilal Jhamad,Treasurer Pawan Khabia,Secretary-General Ajit Soni among others are handling the arrangements.
Sangam Temple, Ladpura
The Chaturmas of Acharyashree Panchkalyanaksagarji Maharaj  will begin in the Sanmati Bhavan of Shri Pashvaprabhu Digambar Jain Sangam Temple at Ladpura in Itwari.There will be pratikraman in the Chaturmas installation ceremony in the afternoon after Keshloch.Daily darshan will be from 3 to 4 pm.
Shri Sambhavanath Jain Shwetambar Sangh, Wardhaman Nagar
The Chaturmas by Pujyamuniraj Shri Prashamartivijayaji MS will begin in the temple located in Wardhaman Nagar.Chairman Ganesh Jain informed that during this time only a limited number of people will be allowed in.Devotees have to follow to rules like keeping safe distance, wearing mask etc. Devotees have been asked to not touch the feet of Guru Bhagwant.
Itwari Tapagachh Temple
The Chaturmas of Acharyashree Manhanand Surishwarji Ma sa and Muniraj Abhishek Vijayasagarji will start in Tapagachh temple at Itwari.The first day will be devavandan.Acharyashree has ordered that all the instructions of the government should be followed during Chaturmas.Safe distance should be maintained.
