Bullion merchants of Nagpur under the banner of Nagpur Sarafa Association have urged the government to allow their shops to open on daily basis as they are facing lots of problems while keeping shops open on the basis of odd and even system.Due to odd and even system is creating financial loss to bullion merchants.
Besides this,the hawkers and petty merchants set up their shops outside their closed establishments due to odd and even system.Similarly,timings fixed by the government for opening of bullion shops coincides with the office hours of government departments which is not useful for the shoppers who may visit their shops only late in the evening.Hence shops should be allowed to function between 12 pm and 8 pm.Apart from this,local administration should finalise specific locations for the hawkers to do business so that crowding outside their shops can be avoided.
