Over the past few years, Nagpur has been known for its spicy foods and delicious cuisine apart from the famous Oranges of Nagpur one more thing which people remember is the famous ‘Tari Poha’ or also known as Saoji Poha.
And we all missed the morning breakfast at our favorite spots but even after getting a nod to reopen all the restaurants, food stalls for online delivery only many are struggling with the business.
Since June 8 the restaurants were granted permission to reopen their kitchen in as a phase Unlock of the country. This allowed the restaurants to once again be back to function but only for food delivery.
Even though the shops are sanitized on regular interval people are scared to eat their favorite food from outside.
One of the Saoji Poha stall at Abhayankar Nagar Mate square said that “earlier people use to come from far places to taste the saoji poha but as the lockdown was implied we lost the business and since the permission was granted to resume we are not even making profit through online food delivery. The business is now down to 25%. Things have changed now people are scared to touch any surface. The virus has taken a toll on the lifestyle of people now. Now we are forced to again close our business as we hardly get much order though online and will wait till things go back to normalâ€.
Another famous Poha spot in Nagpur Ramji Shyamji Pohewala, Wardha road informed that “there was a time when people had to wait in line for their order but now things have changed following social distancing is a new norm, people are more concern of their health. Even though we are allowed to run a business but we are struggling to keep the business running. This is the condition of all the eateries in the country. We hardly make any profit through online food deliveryâ€. All we can do is wait and hope that everything will be back to normal again he added.
Burhanpur Jalebi Centre Pratap Nagar said that “since pandemic, we have been affected now with unlocking our business is down to 25% only. The first thing is government guidelines as it says only to supply online food. Even if we are open due to no or less activity in shop people think that we are closed. Another reason is that 80% of people are scared that they should not eat outside food.
We surely miss our favorite morning snacks but in this pandemic, all we can do is order online or adopt new changes and wait for condition to be stable again and pray to keep all safe from the deadly coronavirus.
