Social security squad of crime branch raided Hub Coffee Lounge Hookah Parlour situated at Achraj Tower in Sadar on Friday noon.
The police arrested Balwinder Singh ,Avtar Singh ,Vicky Singh all residents of 27, Ashok Square, Chambhar Nala). Kunal Harish Kumar Sachdev residents of 29, Hemu Colony Square, Jaripatka, manager Aman Vinod Patil resident of 21, Bejhan Bagh. Rittik Rajesh Taksande (19, Lumbini Nagar) and Ankit Stever Olasis (20, Khadan bast).
On interrogating, Aman said that hookah parlour belongs to Romio Michael of Shiv Nagari in Bhilgaon. Now, police are searching Romio. The hookah parlour was open despite ban during lock down. After getting information SSB police inspector tor Kishore Parvate made a planning for raid.
As per the sources, a CCTV installed out side cafe was keeping eye on people’s movements while the cafe was locked from outside. The employee outside cafe gave entry to regular customers only by opening lock.
On receiving tip off, the police team reached the building. The team nabbed the employee and told him to open the door but the employees inside the room hid the hookah materials.
Underground room under the sofa Police did not find anything prima facie. The customers said that they were talking to employees but there was strong smell of tobacco. Later, police found underground room under a sofa. Hookah and contraband articles were seized from there.
