Finally the stranded Indians in Russia due to coronavirus outbreak will be returning to the country by a chartered flight. The flight would depart from Russia on Sunday night. The flight would first reach Delhi and then would arrive in Nagpur.
The flight that has been arranged as a part of Vande Bharat mission would be arriving in Nagpur on Monday at 4.15 am. It is not yet clear that the Indians on the flight belong to which cities. As per the information provided by the airport administration most of the passengers belong to Vidarbha.
The airport staff is taking all precautionary measures to avoid spread of coronavirus.
It is worth mentioning here that 157 passengers from Doha also arrived in the city on Friday by an IndiGo airlines chartered flight. The flight arrived in Nagpur at 4.20 pm, and departed for Mumbai at 5.30 pm.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the flights to Kolkata from the city would be suspended from July 6 to July 19. The decision has been following the request from West Bengal government to bring the corona outbreak under control.
Apart from Nagpur, flights from Kolkata to Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Ahmedabad have also been suspended.
