In another case of deceptive use of the online mode of transaction, a medical practitioner recently lost Rs 1.43 lakh after falling victim to an online fraud while attempting to buy medical books at low price.As per information; Ajni police have registered a case of fraud against Isabel Lucy, Manchester, London and a fake custom officer Priya Sharma.
As per the police information, Dr.Amol Pawar is a doctor in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).Isabel Lucy contacted Amol on June 29.And she told Amol that she would provide medical education books at low price.
Lucy gave Amol an account number of Asif Khan in Punjab National Bank,Delhi and told him to transfer the money in this account number.Dr.Amol transferred Rs.1.43 lakh.After transfer of money custom officer, Priya Sharma called Dr.Amol on phone.She told Amol that a parcel had arrived on his name and for the release of the parcel he would have to submit money.And he felt suspicious as the price was more than the actual price.He told Lucy to return the money.After that the accused broke all contacts.Then Amol filed a complaint with Ajni police station.
