After the outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown, the hotel industry is facing hard times.Amid this situation, the hotel owners must join the Fund scheme of MSMEs.Through this scheme, government can help them to raise capital. The Union MSME minister Nitin Gadkari stated while addressing a video-conference of office-bearers of Hotel Restaurant Association.
Hoteliers and restaurant owners would tide over the Covid-19 crisis if they strictly follow the terms and conditions laid down by the government as hotel and restaurant business has more potential for employment generation. Now that people would soon start taking up holiday tours and tourism, the hotel industry should be able to at least break even if not earn profit. In future, hotel owners would get newer opportunities to start business near NHAI and near tourist places. On this occasion,Nitin Gadkari also interacted with the students of BITS Pilani. He said that students of engineering colleges along with those from IITs are the future investment tools of India. He added that these students should use new research and technology for the benefit of agro and rural sector.Only this will help in the generation of employment in those sectors and strengthen the economy.
