After the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), which was out of business has found an alternative revenue generation model, as it commenced transport of goods through its trucks.As per information, MSRTC earned a revenue of Rs.5.10 lakhs between June 2 and July 9 through 100 truck load of goods.
MSRTC transported seeds of Mahabeej from Butibori to Solapur.Now MSRTC has been transporting seeds,soya bean oil,animal food,spices,paper roll,groceries,tiles,household items,bamboo,steel,iron and host of other goods to cities and districts like Jintoor,Beed,Yavatmal,Pandarkawada,Chandrapur,Gondia etc.After getting good response from traders,government departments and common people,MSRTC converted 15 more buses into goods truck.
