Anurag Singh and Pravin Pantawane achieved glorious Category ‘C’ of International Arbiter Title. With the title upgrade they entered into the club of Top 60 chess professionals (Arbiters) in the country and into top 10 chess Arbiters in Maharashtra. The Chess fraternity feels proud as these achievements will definitely give a boost towards the development of chess in Nagpur & Maharashtra. The status upgrade was done by FIDE (world chess federation) in the 2nd FIDE online council Meeting 2020.
Mr. Anurag Singh who is 4th International Arbiter from Nagpur is currently the youngest person to hold Category ‘C’ IA Title in India, he started his journey as chess Arbiter in the year 2010, later achieved the title of Fide Arbiter in 2015 followed by International Arbiter title in 2017. He has been a part of over 45 National/ International chess tournaments and GrandMaster Chess Chess Tournaments till date. He is also a member of Maharashtra Arbiter commission since 2014, becoming the youngest person to get into arbiter commission in Maharashtra.
Mr. Pravin Pantawane who is 5th International Arbiter from Nagpur, he started as chess Arbiter in the year 2005, he became FIDE Arbiter in 2014, followed by International Arbiter Title in 2018. He has played a major role toward the success of over 45 National/ International Chess Tournaments. He has also been a part as sector Arbiter in the World Youth Chess Championship, held in Mumbai during the year 2019. He has also played a very active role toward the development of chess in Nagpur.
Anurag and Pravin have given credit for their success to their families, Nagpur District Chess Association; All Marathi Chess Association and All India Chess Federation. they have also expressed their thanks to Mr. Manoj Itkelwar, Mr. Dilip Kamdar & Mr. K K Barat for their inspirational support. they expressed their special thanks to many senior International Arbiters from all over India for their able support and guidance.
