A delegation of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce, the leading organisation representing 13 lakh traders led by president Ashwin Mehadia and Nagpur Eatery Owners ‘Association visited additional municipal commissioner Ram Joshi on Thursday and sought permission from him to open dining restaurants and hotels.Ashwin Mehadia informed Ram Joshi that for four months,following announcement of lockdown on March 24,all restaurants and hotels serving food have been closed down.However,after the ‘Mission Begin Again’was implemented from June,economic activities in all sectors have been opened up on odd&even basis.
Despite this,government has not granted permission for re-opening of hotels and restaurants.President of Nagpur Eatery Association,Om Hansale stated that hotel and restaurant owners are ready to observe all lockdown norms like maintaining physical distance,wearing masks and gloves,using sanitisers and thermal screening to contain the virus.Secretary of NVCC Ramavatar Totla said the delegation has submitted a similar memorandum to the chief minister Uddhav Thackeray,guardian minister Dr.Nitin Raut and district collector Ravindra Thakre.
