The first session of MahaBasket Referee’s clinic was inaugurated by  the senior most referee in Maharashtra  Joseph John who was the chairman of then Maharashtra Referees Association for long time.
His valuable guidance and sharing of his experience was worth listening to all the aspirant as well as qualified referees. V S Shridhar, FIBA Commissioner from Banglore Karnataka gave his valuable chairman’s address for today’s session. Coordinator of MahaBasket Shatrughna Gokhale gave introductory remarks and conducted the proceedings.
Day 1 and day 2 session will be conducted by Dr. Sharad Bansode, FIBA black licensee referee. Day 3 session will be shared by Rakesh Maheshwari, FIBA certified statistician and Rahul Dhone FIBA certified table official. Statistics is a very essential part in todays basketball as it can evaluate the performance of a player in every aspect be it rebounding or assist or conversation percentage etc. New duties of table officials will also be discussed in this session.
Last two sessions will be again conducted by Dr. Sharad Bansode followed by full online examination. MahaBasket Referee’s clinic links will be sent to whatsapp group only.
All further communications with the participants like daily examination link, daily joining link etc will be done on whatsapp group.
Daily examination will also be conducted after each session. Participants will get the results immediately after submission of the questionnaire and can evaluate themselves.All the participants are being requested to refer to FIBA online rule book which is provided to them and prepare themselves for the examination. Various district representatives are taking efforts for the success of this Clinic. Technical aspect of the clinic on Zoom is controlled by Dr. Amit Tembhurne.
