Union Government has directed the Directorate of Tourism, Maharashtra, to ensure that information about hotels, resorts, guest houses, home stay, bread and breakfast units, apartment hotels and time sharing units in the state is being collected for the Centre’s proposed preparing of national database. The database will be used in formulating schemes, policy on tourism for development of this sector as well as for taking preventive steps in respect of increasing COVID-19 cases in the country.
As per information,the Tourism Department will instruct all such units to register their names by visiting www.hotelcloud.nic.in website. The department has deployed Deputy Directors, Tourism all over Maharashtra to see that proper information is given such as name of resort/hotel, address, number of suites, email ID, name of the person concerned with mobile number. Prashant Savai, Deputy Director, Tourism, Nagpur, stated that the number of entries from such units was more in Nagpur due to co-operation extended by Hotel Association. Savai and Hanumant Hede, Deputy Director,Tourism, Amravati, have appealed to resort/hotel and other units in Nagpur and Amravati regions to furnish information by visiting the  website by clicking national database as early as possible.
