As we know the country is currently reeling under the effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and in this difficult situation, National Cancer Institute (NCI) became the first hospital authorise to treat Covid 19 patients suffering from cancer.
Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Commissioner has issued an official letter to this effect.The letter indicated that they  have taken many steps to control the spread of Covid 19 in Nagpur division and are able to curtail the spread of this virus. Primary focus of administration has been to avoid the deaths due to coronavirus. Post primary analysis of deaths, it has been observed that major cause of deaths is co-morbid condition with immune suppressant disorders. In this scenario it has become mandatory to provide special care to Covid 19 patients with pre-existing cancer. NCI is the first private hospital in Central India to provide Covid care to cancer patients. NCI is allowed to treat coronavirus patients with cancer and the staff if in case found positive.
