Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) issued new guidelines for COVID care, which states that the asymptomatic negative close contacts of coronavirus positive persons in Nagpur will be asked to stay home.
The new rule would come in to effect from Sunday. Earlier all the close contacts who came in contact with the person who was tested positive for COVID-19) were admitted in institution quarantine centres even though these contacts were tested negative and whether they were asymptomatic or not.
With the new rule coming in to effect, institutional quarantine centres would gradually become empty for the new patients. NMC has also planned to convert these centers into Covid Care Centres (CCC).
The new guideline will lessen the burden on the staff and doctors who have been working selflessly since the pandemic began to spread in the country.
