The outbreak of Covid -19 pandemic has really created endless problems for the people. During this difficult situation, corona positive patients are facing another headache in the form of exorbitant fees for Covid treatment. To avoid this situation in Nagpur, divisional commissioner Dr.Sanjeev Kumar conducted a meeting in presence of district collector Ravindra Thakare, municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe.
As per information, during the meeting, divisional commissioner ordered to form a committee with representatives of Vidarbha Hospitals Association (VHA) and Indian Medical Association (IMA) to fix the rates of Covid treatment in private hospitals in city. The committee has also been instructed to conduct research to fix the treatment cost. The divisional commissioner during meeting instructed the deputy director of health to make sure all the blood testing labs and private hospitals start antigen testing, and for that they should get the kits. He also said that a stall for Covid testing be set up on the premises of Indian Medical Association (IMA).Testing would be done at these stalls for Rs.500 to Rs.525.It was also said during the meeting that treatment in private hospitals would start only after the government hospitals are full.
