With Raksha Bandhan round the corner, the postal department has initiated a special drive to deliver the rakhis in the country amid the Covid-19 pandemic.Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Nagpur MFL Division has informed that a control room has been formed at Division Office at the ASP HQ from July 27. The monitoring is being done by Mails/ASP HQ for delivery of the rakhi articles on daily basis. The Post Offices including Branch Post Offices have been intimated to bestow optimum priority for booking and immediate dispatch of rakhi mail.
Special boxes have been prepared and kept at prominent Post offices for the dispatch of rakhi mail. If any customer avails speed post booking in respect of rakhis, necessary instructions, guidelines are being issued to the respective customer regarding availing rakhi envelope for booking, helping customers for insertion, proper address, using Pin Code, mobile number, superscription of rakhi on the article etc., with full address of sender.
All the delivery staff have been instructed to open the bags and sorting in respect of rakhi mail immediately. All the delivery offices including branch offices have been directed to deliver the rakhi mails on the day of its receipt. All the PM/SPMs have been instructed not to keep a single rakhi mail without delivery before leaving the office. Register regarding booking, delivery and dispatch of the rakhi mail should be maintained by Post Office and reporting to control room at 16 hours on daily basis. Special delivery for rakhi mail will be arranged on August 2 at prominent Post Offices.
