Ashwin Mehadia President of Nag-Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce stated that introduction of Section 376 of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act-1949 as detrimental to the interest of the traders.
He stated that as per this act the traders will not only have to seek prior permission of civic chief to start a new business. Traders already have to take permits for starting a business. They also have to renew these permits every year. Not only this, this new permission would entail payment of fees to the civic body for preventing civil and criminal action. And all these process would prevent traders from doing business in a free and fair manner.
