Nagpur has been receiving heavy rainfall from the past 2 days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall for the next 4-5 days in the Vidarbha region including Nagpur. Most of the places in Vidarbha are receiving good rains from the beginning of this month.
The city witnessed a heavy downpour on Sunday morning and the civic administration of the city acted in a responsible manner to monitor the situation. The Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe directly monitored the situation and reached the ‘Emergency Operation Centre’ on Sunday afternoon.
Currently Kamthi Khairy Dam aka Pench Dam, Nagpur has 124,530 million litres of water and is at 87% of its live capacity of 142,000 million litres.
Khindsi Dam Nagpur has 26,010 million litres water and is at 25% of its live capacity
Nand Dam (aka Wadgaon Dam) Nagpur has 17,840 million litres and is at 33% of its live capacity of 53,000 million litres
Totladoh Dam, Nagpur has 891,970 million litres water and is at 87% of its live capacity of 1,017,000 million litres
Heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Heavy rainfall occurred isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places over East Madhya Pradesh & Vidarbha.
