Wockhardt Hospital and Seven Star Hospital have returned 10.50 lakh Rs to the patients after NMC found both hospitals leveraged extra amount from the patients without the proper information.
NMC commissioner Tukaram Mundhe had earlier ordered both the hospital to return the excess amount charged to patients by the hospital.
Acting on the order, Wockhardt Hospital Gandhi Nagar has returned Rs 9.50 lakh and Seven Star Hospital Nandanvan, KDK College Road returned Rs 1 lakh to the patients.
This was the first case in the city in which the hospitals were ordered to return the excess amount which was leveraged on the patients by the hospital.
Both the hospitals were also ordered to submit an explanation about their actions to the authorities.
