Ahead of Ganeshotsav, Nagpur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe appealed citizens to follow and obey the rules for the safety of the loved ones.
Through a video message he said that the “Ganeshotsav will begin from tomorrow and we all wait every year to welcome Vignaharta to shower his blessings upon us every year but as well know the current scenario of the world, we can be our own Vignaharta in this festive season by avoiding physical contacts and avoid mass gathering while bringing Bappa homeâ€.
“I suggest to all to avoid installment of Ganesh Idol in public place this year and rather to just celebrate the festival at home and also that only two persons to go to bring Bappa Homeâ€.
“If by any means the immersion ceremony cannot be performed at home then NMC vehicle will come at your door step and will immerse Ganesh Idol. Thus this will help us in following rules and will keep everyone safe. I also request you to follow virtual Ganeshotsav celebration as well†he added.
According to the set guidelines the size of Ganesh idol must be up to 4 feet, minimum devotees be present in pandols, and avoid mass procession, and advised to bid their goodbye to lord Ganesh at their respective pandols itself and avoid going out just to avoid any physical contacts to keep the virus at bay and along with this one has to strictly follow the rules set by the government to stop the spread of deadly Coronavirus.
