A three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court on Friday heard the counsels arguments in length over whether the issue of states exceeding 50 per-cent ceiling on reservation can be referred to a larger bench of the SC.And the Supreme Court will hold the next hearing on the Maratha reservation on September 1.A batch of 15 petitions has challenged the law giving reservation to Marathas on the ground that it breaches the 50 per cent reservation threshold prescribed in the landmark judgment ren dered by the Supreme Court in Indra Sawhney in 1992.
