The spread of the novel coronavirus in the city has quickened in the last few days with new cases of Covid-19 and deaths reported every day. The epidemic has expanded its footprint in the district and has affected over more than 30KÂ people so far.
Nagpur reported its first coronavirus positive patient on March 11, 2020 and from then the city is witnessing continuous rise in the number of cases each day. On Wednesday the city recorded highest single day jump in COVID-19 cases till date as it reports 1703 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the tally to over 32,705.
With 41 fatalities, the toll has surged to 1132 on Wednesday. From the total deaths 859 deaths from the city and 163 from rural and rest 110 from out of Nagpur, an official release said.
The total active cases are 9917 including 5798 asymptomatic cases advised for home isolation. The recovery rate in Nagpur district read 66.22%.Â
According to the latest update, in one single day, 1,059 persons became free of the virus borne disease taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 21,656 (including home isolation recovery 10399).
Today’s 1703 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.
AIIMS (79), GMC (87), IGGMC (180), MAFSU (78), NEERI(42), Private Lab (438) and Antigen (799).
