After giving strict instructions, people are not concerned about wearing face masks in the city, which has been made mandatory by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Taking stern action against the rule breakers NMC nuisance search squad on Friday has taken action against 516 citizens who were found roaming without mask and collected Rs 1, 03,200 as fine.
In the last days the nuisance squad have taken action against 3499 citizens and recovered fine of 699800.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NMC has given safety guidelines to follow like wearing a mask, social distancing and hand wash etc. Still irresponsible citizens are not in a mood to follow this rules.Therefore; a fine of Rs.200 is levied on them for not wearing a mask. On Friday action was taken against 59 persons under Laxminagar zone,106 under Dharampeth zone,40 under Hanuman nagar,49 under Dhantoli zone,41 under Nehru Nagar,41 under Gandhibagh,30 under Sataranjipura,35 under Lakdaganj,42 under Asi nagar,75 under Mangalwari zone, and 4 in NMC headquarters.
