Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis took a review meeting with Nagpur Municipal Corporation today. In the meeting, views suggestions were exchanged and a plan of action to tackle the COVID-19 havoc was discussed.
NMC is trying to fulfill the demand of beds in the city as every day thousands of patients are being infected there are currently 42 COVID-19 dedicated hospitals in the city which are serving patients and NMC aims to raise this number to 100.
In city everyday the testing is conducting much more than Mumbai in terms of per million testing and that is the only & best methodology available to stop the spread of coronavirus.
About 6,500 to 7,000 tests are being conducted daily in the city. This includes increasing the number of RTPCR tests.

Covid-positive pregnant mothers are being treated and delivered at Pachpavli Hospital. 60 doctors who have completed their education at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo) and 200 doctors who have completed their education from Government Medical College and Hospital (Medical) will be appointed soon. Therefore, the question of important medical personnel has been solved.
The commissioner also said that by the end of September, 400 beds of municipal hospitals will be available.
When a patients calls the NMC helpline for the availability of beds the information is given but in many cases we have seen that patients are sent back even if they inform the necessary details and to break this confusion it was suggested to begin SMS facility where the patients will receive information of beds through SMS.
