Regarding the exploitation of common customers by airline companies in India, citizens of Nagpur recently wrote to 240 members of parliament (MPs). A press release issued by Harihar Pande, Yadavrao Chaudhari and Bandu Lambat has stated that the monsoon session of parliament has started from Monday. During the session, the discussions on present conditions of airline companies were held in both houses. It is observed that the members of both houses had discussed airline companies and took their side. Instead of supporting airline companies, the political parties should spend their energy in getting back the passengers money.
The airline companies are not giving money refunds to the customers and they are depositing the money in Credit Shell. It also pointed out that thousands of customers had lost their money in the name of the credit shell. The money pending with the airline companies for the trips cancelled due to the pandemic have been deposited by the companies in the credit shell. This is against the consumer law. In the name of pandemic, airline companies are taking undue advantage and exploiting the customers, the release stated. Alleging the action of air lines by depositing money in credit shell and compelling consumers to purchase costly tickets is not tolerable. Therefore, the Central Government should protect the rights of consumers and solve the issue immediately.
