On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, today, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) launched ‘Vyapar Swarajya’, a nation wide campaign to bring an end to the domestic trade dependency on China & other MNCs and to liberate the domestic trade and e commerce business from the vicious clutches of FDI funded e-commerce and other foreign companies. The campaign will run from 2nd October till 31st December and measures will be work upon to implement PM Modi’s evocations on ‘vocal on local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, across all the cities, villages and towns of all the states in the country. More than 40 thousand trade associations will participate in this campaign to make it more strong and successful. The CAIT has also released a Vyapar Swarajya charter for the campaign.
CAIT National President Mr B C Bhartia and Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal said that now it is a direct battle of 7 crore traders of India with the Walmart , Amazon and other MNCs who are trying to monopolize the retail trade and e commerce business of India. The CAIT will do all attempts to ensure due compliance of FDI policy in letter & spirit by these Companies and will force the Government to take strict action against those who will violate the policy. We will not tolerate the silent reaction of the Government on the violation of the FDI Policy and other laws.
The domestic trade of India belongs to Indian traders and it is not the play ground of MNCs and therefore, the traders have a constitutional right to do business on Indian soil without any interruption. Either these companies have to obey the law else they will have to leave India. The tolerance of traders should not be considered as their weakness.
Mr. Bhartia & Mr. Khandelwal said that the traders of the country have great hopes from the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Commerce Minister Shri Piyush Goyal as the Union Government has taken many steps to protect the interests of the traders in the past years. CAIT will ensure attempts to increase the current registered 1.5 crores (approx) business establishments to 2.5 crores in the coming year if the Central and State Government draws concrete roadmap to strengthen the domestic trade of the country. This will not only increase the GST revenue but will also significantly  increase the Income tax  revenue .
Mr. Bhartia and Mr. Khandelwal while releasing a Vyapar Swarajya Charter said that the Government should immediately issue an e-commerce policy for e-commerce business with the formation of a regulatory authority to monitor e-commerce business.
A National Trade Policy should be announced, the National Traders Welfare Board should be announced, the GST Act should be reviewed and should be simplified, revoking all all types of licenses with one single license., Loans by Banks on easy terms, The commercial markets of the country should be rejuvenated, all laws governing domestic trade should be reviewed and redundant laws should be revoked, the Mudra scheme should be reviewed and non-banking finance companies and micro finance companies should be roped in to give finances to the traders incentive schemes to promote digital payment, a policy to computerize traders across the country, to protect Delhi traders from sealing, an Amnesty Scheme with a cut off date should be declared , policy to encourage women entrepreneurs, uniform rent laws across Country including Delhi and a special skill development scheme for traders should be made.
