The Smart City project has helped in controlling crime as 3600 CCTV cameras have been installed in Nagpur. Many criminals were caught with help of the camera footage. It is expecting that the crime will be curbed by this technology in the future also. The Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar reviewed the work of Nagpur Safe and Smart City project being implemented by Nagpur Smart and Sustainable Development Corporation Limited. The meeting was organized on the behalf of the e-Governance Department.
After the meeting Amitesh Kumar and other officials inspected the Atal Bihari Vajpayee City Operations Centre.GMD of Smart City e-Governance Sheel Ghule informed them about the City Operations Centre. As there is an urgent need to streamline vehicular traffic through CCTV, and the Commissioner of Police directed the traffic police to create awareness through V.A.M.S.He also reviewed the work of the Central Command and Control Centre near the Police Control Room.
