It is good news for Maha Metro as Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has given platinum rating for Maha Metro’s Metro Bhavan.As per information; it has got platinum rating for adhering to green building norms. The building was the brainchild of MD of Maha Metro Dr.Brijesh Dixit.The point to be noted here is that solar energy is being used at a large scale at Metro Bhavan.273 megawatt capacity solar unit has been installed ,it will produce 3.75 lakh unit energy annually.
And it is saving 20 % electricity. Bio digester and rain water harvesting system installed in the building is also saving water. The treated water from Bio-digester is used for gardening purposes and this initiative is saving around 40 percent water. The fertilizer is being produced through bio waste machine for the trees in the building premises. It has decreased the usage of chemical fertilizers and it is also helping in maintaining the quality of land. Metro Bhavan is constructed in such a way that there is ample natural air and light in the building. The drip irrigation system being installed for trees saves the water.
