After a gap of seven months, Vidarbha express finally returned on track from Gondia on Saturday. On its first journey yesterday the train carried 122 passengers to thier destinations. The number of passengers are expected to grow gradually as situation normalises after lockdown imposed due to corona outbreak.
The passengers train operations were closed since March 22 to curb the spread of COVID-19 but have now been resumed.
The 2106 Gondia–CST Mumbai bound Vidarbha Express resumed it’s run on Saturday with only 122 passengers on board. It may be noted that before the lockdown, around 800 passenger board from Gondia on an average.
Meanwhile, Railway authorities have urged the passengers to arrive 90 minutes in advance from the
departure time of the train as they will have to follow the
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) before boarding the train.
At the station, thermal scanning, oxygen level, etc of every passenger will be tested. Passengers will have to abide by rules of social distancing, wearing face mask, using regular sanitisers, etc. Importantly, passengers can board the train only on the basis of reservation ticket and no current ticket is allowed in the train.
Passenger can get the reservation ticket at least half an hour before of the train’s departure.
