Ravindra Thakre,District Collector during a the meeting on ‘COVID-19 treatment and media representatives’ held at the auditorium of Vasantrao Naik State Agricultural Extension Management Training Institute ( VANAMATI) appealed  that though the situation of pandemic in city is under control due to the effective measures of administration, it is important that the citizens should follow the rules and guidelines voluntarily.
The District Administration, Healthcare system and different concerned departments are continuously working to bring the situation under control. Right from testing, diagnosis and isolation, all the schemes are being implemented effectively to check the spread of the virus. The Government mechanism is constantly spreading the awareness about the Corona virus and providing immediate treatment for them. Facilities are developed to build harmony between Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and other Institutions. The Government is giving priorities to increase the number of tests during Coronavirus treatment, performing tests of nearest relatives of positive patients (high risk connect); making treatment available to the patients in quarantine; continuous survey and testing of each citizen under ‘My Family My responsibility’. The people’s representatives in the district are also co-operating for COVID control. With the initiatives of Sarpanch, Corporators, Members of Panchayat Samiti, Members of Zilla Parishad a new theme ‘My Area-My Initiative’ has been developed. Collector also expressed concern over the misunderstandings spread about the lack of proper treatment to corona patients and availability of beds in the hospitals. Government administration has started a control room and now patients are getting beds easily. Patients in home isolation are getting telephonic information about treatment and counselling facilities through psychologists. The inspection about additional fees collected by the private hospitals would be conducted soon, collector said.
