KKR continue to struggle with their performance while MI continue to impress as they registered their fifth straight victory in IPL 2020. With this victory, MI makes it to the top of the points table.
From the beginning of the match. KKR batsmen were finding it difficult to score against the MI bowlers. The top order of KKR failed miserably as the first 5 wickets fell for just 61 runs with just 9 overs to spare. Wicket kept falling at regular intervals and even the power hitter Andre Russell couldn’t save the sinking ship.
Thanks to newly appointed Captain Eoin Morgan and Pat Cummins who gave the bowlers something to fight as they made a defendable 148/5 in 20 overs. The 6th wicket partnership of 87 runs between Eoin Morgan and Pat Cummins helped KKR to reach a respectable score.
MI batsmen were dominating the KKR bowlers from the beginning of the innings. Quinton de Kock scored an amazing 44 balls 77 with Rohit Sharma (35), Suryakumar Yadav (10), Hardik Pandya (21) playing small but important cameos. MI chased the target of 147 comfortably with 8 wickets in hand 3.1 overs to spare.
