The third phase of testing of anti-coronavirus vaccine Covishield started at Government Medical College and Hospital at Nagpur on Friday. This vaccine will be given to 50 persons in next two days. These include 20 women, five senior citizens above 60 years and 25 male between 18 to 55 years age. Tests of Covishield are being conducted worldwide by Oxford University and AstraZenca Company.
The tests of second and third phases are being conducted by Serum Institute of India. The Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur got permission of human test of this vaccine last month. The registration of volunteers for human test was going on from last three days. After giving first dose, the second dose will be given after 28 days i.e. on November 20. The blood test will be done on 58th day. Inquiry about health of volunteers will be made on telephone on 90th day. On 180th day, blood test of them will be done again in hospital.
