The civic administration of the city is mulling to prepare database of persons in health care sector in city in readiness for targeted release of COVID-19 vaccine. Research on finding vacancy is in advanced stages and hence Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued guidelines to States to keep its machinery in readiness. Since database would be key to identifying beneficiaries, NMC has put in motion the process to gather information. The Health Department would contact public and private hospitals and gather relevant data. The Nagpur Municipal Commissioner has already started communication with health care sector outlining the guidelines of Central and State Health Departments in this regard.
The civic machinery is dispatching letters to all the hospitals, dispensaries in the city seeking information about doctors, paramedics, nursing staff and others in health care set-up. As per information, after gathering information of Government and private hospitals same would be compiled and submitted to the Central and State Governments. Citing urgency the civic body has impressed upon health units to provide information at the earliest. A proforma on data sheet has also been shared with the hospitals and dispensaries. Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals, Super Specialty Hospitals, Community Health Centers, Primary Health Centers, AYUSH Hospitals, Municipal Hospitals, Civil Primary Health Centers, Private Corporate Hospitals, Private Medical Colleges and Hospitals, Nursing Homes and all registered and other hospitals in the city are identified for gathering information. NMC has set deadline of October 28 by 5 pm when the hospitals are directed to submit the information about medical professionals, officers and staff working in their hospitals to homnmc.ngp@gmail.com. Dr Praveen Gantawar has been appointed as the Nodal Officer in this regard. And the hospitals can contact the nodal officer in case they face any problem in sending information to the hospitals.
