Gondia: Around 1,924 students from Gondia district have applied online for Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) award for the academic session
2020–21. Inspire Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) are being given away by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It aim at motivating students of the age group of 10 to 15 years, studying in classes 6 to 10 .
The objective of the scheme is to bring out original ideas/innovations rooted in science and to bolster the creativity and innovative thinking among students.
The number of applicants emrolling for the programme even during COVID-19 pandemic are seen as success of effective efforts made by students and teachers through social platforms.
The students will prepare models and present their ideas through them at tehsil, district, state and national levels. Every year five students are selected from State including 3 from Marathi medium and one each from Hindi and English medium.Two students from each schools at district level are selected to prepare their projects for which they receive Rs 10,000 through direct
benefit transfer (DBT).
The students selected at district level will get chance of exhibiting his model and project at State-level.
