After a long wait, the Maharashtra Government has allotted funds worth Rs.50 lakh for the rejuvenation of the heritage Kasturchand Park in the city. The Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court was informed about this on Thursday. A PIL in this regard is pending at the High Court. The High Court in the year 2017 taken it as a suo motu cognizance and had filed the PIL.
The case was heard by Bench comprising of Justice Ravi Deshpande and Justice Pushpa Ganediwala. The point to be noted here is that the High Court had directed that the Kasturchand Park should be developed as a playground. After the High Court order the government released the funds. As per information, the next hearing in the case is on November 25.
