The city’s hotel owners on Monday visited district collector Ravindra Thakare and NMC Commissioner Radhakrishnan B and handed over a memorandum to increase business hours of restaurants.The owners and representatives of the restaurants, under the banner of NCP Business Cell and Nagpur Eateries Association also met Mayor. And Swapnil Ahirkar, President of NCP Business Cell said that the restaurant owners in the city had suffered huge financial losses during the lockdown period imposed due to the coronavirus crisis.
Although the restaurant are now open, the timings till 10 pm is insufficient and should be increased till 12 midnight as the restaurants are losing potential business. He requested the authorities to create a better environment for the revival of business and increase working hours of the restaurants. Aum Hansles, President of Nagpur Eateries Association said that customers generally windup from their office and shops by 9 pm and then go out for dinning. For restaurants it was not possible to serve such customers properly. He further said that it takes more than one hour to wind-up a restaurant and not possible to work with such stipulated time.
