“The big break which I got was all because of the wishes and blessing of my mother, I want to make her proud with my efforts as she is our support system and wants her to show the world as a Thankyou for taking care of us all these years and for inspiring us,†says city lad Jasjot Bhasin who got his big break in a Dharma Productions film ‘Fighter’ starring Vijay Devarakonda in the main lead role along with Ananya Pandey.
Sharing his experience and journey with ‘The live Nagpur’ Jasjot told about his big break.
“This is my first big break, and I am happy to be associated with a big production house and share screen with such humble and experienced actors and director,†Jasjot said.
“The dream of becoming an actor began 2-3 years back when I was doing modeling and I completed my studies in Hislop, I participated in a college fashion show and got good response and appreciation from the team and soon began participating in such events. I realized that I have that confidence and talent when I performed in front of 400 people in a Central Mall and the response I received was mesmerizing and though to opt for actingâ€.
With this dream in my mind, I began attending workshops and practicing and came to Mumbai to try my luck, and here I came to know that the competition is very tough and after giving 400-500 auditions I finally got a breakthrough this movie†he added.
Speaking about his preparations he said that “Miracle can happen if your how hard work on as during my days in Mumbai I gave hundreds of audition but never got a callback and in December last year I gave my audition for Fighter movie with little to no hope of getting the role I decided to come back to Nagpur as my resources were almost over and the day I stepped my foot in Nagpur I received a call from the production team to come to the specific place as I was selected and had to start shooting the very next dayâ€.
“With no resources in hand and little planning and no seat reservation, I left for Mumbai the same night and reached the prescribed location and began preparing and try to fit in the character. I was hesitant to perform in front of 300-400 crew directors but everyone helped me in fitting in the role†he added.
“The best thing while shooting with the team which gave me a boost and moral support was that the director was instructing me on how I could adapt in the part, and this feeling was something which is really hard to describe†Jasjot informed.
Jasjot began his career as a gym instructor in Nagpur and entered the acting field. His biggest role model in Bollywood is ‘King of Bollywood’ Shahrukh Khan and his mother Amritkaur Bhasin and elder brother Sahibsingh Bhasin who is also a model and international football player who has always supported and encouraged him in focusing on his goals and working hard to achieve his goals.
In his message to all the budding artists of Nagpur, he said that “consistency, perseverance, self believe and hard-work are some of the most important aspects of life. One should always believe in themselves and always work hard. And one should never forget his past and the struggle they have made as these things will only give you strength and you will learn from it as wellâ€.
The movie Fighter will soon start production as it was affected due to COVID-19 and lockdown in the country.
