After a Sero Survey conducted in the city, 49.7 percent population in the city and 21.7 percent in rural areas were detected with anti-bodies. Due to this, the selected sample of population is stated to have developed resistance to fight Covid-19 virus. On Monday the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM) submitted a report of Sero Survey to the divisional commissioner.
The point to be noted here is that if a person gets infected with Covid-19 without manifestation of Covid-19 symptoms, the antibody count in his or her body automatically goes up. The PSM department of Government Medical College took blood samples of 2000 people 13 tehsils of Nagpur rural and equal number of people in ten zones of NMC.
The report was prepared on the basis of test results obtained from the blood samples collected from these people. As per the information, the people residing in six assembly constituencies in East Nagpur were found to have higher count of anti-bodies. Another factor which was found during the survey is that number of antibodies among the people living in the slums was more as compared to those staying in tony areas of city.
