Nagpur will now be second city in the country to have Regional officer’s (RO) office building of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Apart from the orange city, the other NHAI RO office is being constructed in Lucknow.
Arrangement for officer, employees and visitors in the campus is also in the plan.
Currently, NHAI has taken all the offices of top officers in Nagpur on rent. In one year, NHAI spends about Rs 1 crore on their rent. Apart from this some officers and employees stay in rented accommodations.
The work started after NHAI headquarters issued instructions to all RO office for having own building and residential complex.
A G+4 building is to be built on the land of about 4000 square feet of NHAI adjoining the university campus on Amravati Road. Apart from this, there will also be a system of accommodation here.
The NHAI will save a lot of money and the officers will get facility when the build ing is completed in the land adjacent to highway Generally speaking, the project will stop wasteful expenditure of NHAI. Had it been made even earlier the authority could have saved crores of rupees.
