It is quite obvious that the coronavirus pandemic has affected each and every business and sector of the economy. From big industries to small-scale businesses nothing was spared by corona.
Nagpur was no exception as it also had to bear the brunt of the pandemic and suffer huge economic losses. The nursery business of the city also suffered losses but is now slowly trying to overcome that.
Kishore Kumate, owner of Saini Nursery near Padole Hospital, Ring Road said, “Due to lockdown we suffered huge losses as for almost a month our sales were nil, but with the markets opening up slowly people are buying plants and in a very slow pace but still we are getting our business back. With the COVID cases dropping in the city, people fear of getting infected is reducing and within a matter of time the losses that we had suffered due to the pandemic we are very confident that we will get out of itâ€.
Plant owners near Maharaj Bagh had pretty much the same thing to say. One point they added was that pandemic or no pandemic everyone wants and likes greenery around them. In today’s time with the alarming pollution levels, people realize the importance of greenery around them and that’s why we will overcome this pandemic loss very soon.
