Reversing it’s decision Nagpur Municipal Corporation has decided to not open the schools from November 23. With this the school are ordered to remain shut till December 13 as the COVID-19 cases are rapidly increasing in the city.
NMC commissioner issued an order regarding the same.
In view of the declining number of corona patients before Diwali, the government had issued orders that schools from Class IX to XII could be started from November 23 with the consent of the local administration. Accordingly, the corporation had made preparations to start the schools of Nagpur Municipal Corporation from November 23. However, in view of the increase in the number of corona patients after Diwali, schools starting on November 23 will be closed till December 13 instead of starting now, reads the order.
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination Boards Class X and XII supplementary examinations will be continued as per the schedule.
Earlier today around 41 teachers were tested positive in Nagpur district.
