Amravati: District Election Officer and District Collector of Amravati Shailesh Nawal has directed all tehsildars in the District to take action within stipulated time as per ward wise voters list programme received from Election Commission for Gram Panchayat general elections in the District.
The Election Commission of India has, on September 25, 2020, released the updated voter list based on the eligibility date of 1 January 2020. Accordingly, all voters in the electoral roll must have the opportunity to vote. Therefore, the programme has been decided by the Election Commission as per the updated voter list. According to this programme, the date for publication of ward wise draft voter list is 1st December. The deadline for filing objections and suggestions is December 1 to December 7. The ward wise final voter list release date is December 10.
All the entries should be as per the updated list while making ward wise voter list. Ensure that no voter from outside the Gram Panchayat is included. Action should be taken as per the instructions of the Election Commission regarding duplicate names, deceased, migrants.
The voter list should be finalized keeping in view the rules regarding the objections and suggestions received on it. If there are any errors in the list of scribes, erroneous inclusion of voters in the second ward, their names appear in the September 25 update list but they are not in the draft list, they should be rectified. After that the final voter list should be published.
The draft and final voter list should be published on notice boards of Gram Panchayat, Talathi Saja, Mandal Officer’s Office, Panchayat Samiti and Tehsil Office and local media, instructed by Nawal. According to the voter list program, there are 553 gram panchayats in the District for general elections, 1823 wards and 4896 members.
Amravati tehsil has 46 gram panchayats (154 wards and 416 members), Bhatkuli tehsil has 36 gram panchayats (116 wards and 312 members), Tiosa tehsil has 29 gram panchayats (98 wards and 261 members), in Daryapur tehsil 50 gram Panchayats (163 wards and 444 members), in Morshi tehsil 39 gram panchayats (131 wards and 349 members), 41 gram panchayats in Warud tehsil (139 wards and 279 members), 34 gram panchayats in Anjangaon Surji tehsil (117 wards and 312 mem- bers), in Achalpur tehsil 44 gram panchayats (147 wards and 399 members), in Dharani tehsil 35 gram panchayats (121 wards and 333 members), 23 gram panchayats in Chikhaldara tehsil (71 wards and 199 members), 51 gram panchayats in Nandgaon Khandeshwar tehsil (159 wards and 419 members), in Chandur Railway tehsil 29 gram pan- chayat (93 wards and 235 members), in Chandur Bazar tehsil 41 gram panchayat (140 wards and 381 members) and 55 gram panchayats in Dhamangaon railway tehsil (174 wards and 457 members).
