BJP Divyang Vikas Aghadi in association with Nagpur City and Maharashtra Cricket Association for Disabled (MSCAD) organised a Twenty20 friendly cricket match here at the Reshimbagh ground.
The limited overs match was held between PCCAN XI and MSCAD XI. Batting first, MSCAD scored 101 for eight in 10 overs. Lokesh Marghade top scored with 58 runs.
In reply, PCCAN achieved the target in 9.1 overs losing just a solitary wicket. Sarang Chafle remained unbeaten on 43 runs. Chafle played a sensible knock and steered his side home quite comfortably.
MLA Mohan Mate was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. President of BJP Divyang Vikas Aghadi Jaisingh Chavan, sports in-charge of BJP Divyang Vikas Aghadi Dhananjay Upasani, Dr Raut, Amol Walke, Shrkkant Bhonge, Uttam Mishra, corporator Nagesh Sahare, Sanjay Bhoskar, Namdeo Balgat, Nutan Umredkar, Raju Dudhankar, Dinesh Yadav, Bhushan Dadve, Anil Kotangale, Sachin Thombre, Shirish Sudame, Rahul Lekurwade, Rajubhau Gore, Manoj Sangole, Vinay Yadav, Ashok Katekar and Sanjay Thakre were present on the occasion.
Gurudas Raut conducted the proceedings of the prize distribution function. The persons who were honoured by a host of dignitaries include Uttam Mishra (Vidarbha’s first Shiv Chhatrapati Awardee, excellent work in para cricket), Namdev Dada Balgar (started para cricket in Vidarbha and Maharashtra in 1985), Gurudas Raut (first Indian divyang cricket team captain and World Cup winner), Mohammad Hafeez Ansari (international wheelchair cricket player), Kalpana Satpute (vice-captain Indian women’s divyang cricket team), Mangla Admakar (Indian women’s divyang cricket team member) and Lokesh Marghade (youngest player selected in Indian disabled team).
