This is really a good news for the citizens of the Nagpur as two more stations are added to kitty of Nagpur Metro Rail with Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) providing clearance to Shankar Nagar and Rachna Junction metro stations. These two stations are located on Aqua Line (EastWest Route) and provide commuters in Western parts of city an alternative mode of transport. During last two days, CMRS Janak Kumar Garg and his team carried out minute inspection of tracks and passenger amenities at the two stations and found them satisfactory. Nagpur Metro is fast tracking clearances for stations with concentration on those lying on Sitabuldi Interchange to Wasudeo Nagar on Hingna route on top priority.
As of now Rahate Colony, Ajni Chowk, Bansi Nagar and LAD metro stations, Subhash Nagar and Rachna Ring Road junction metro stations are ready to be unlocked once normalcy returns and most of all education institutions reopen. CMRS and his team also inspected the Subhash Nagar and Rachna Junction metro stations and examined various facilities available for the passengers in the station area. During the month of September, Ajni Chowk, Rahate Colony, LAD Chowk and Bansi Nagar metro stations were opened for service of citizens and now two new metro stations would be in service of passengers in next coming days. Now, in all 18 metro stations are available for metro services eight on the Orange Line and 10 on Aqua Line. Expressing satisfaction at clearance for two more metro stations, Dr Brijesh Dixit, ManagingDirector, Maha Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), complimented the construction workers and officials saying their joint efforts has bornefruits.
He appealed citizens to make full of use the metro service in large numbers and also inspire others to use. Metro expects footfalls to increase as Shankar Nagar and Rachna Junction (near Hingna Tpoint) will greatly benefitthecitizens of the area where there is substantial population base. The station located at Hingna Tea Point, from where a large number of citizens commute to and from Hingana and Sitabuldi.
