While hearing PIL filed by a devotee Sham Agrawal, Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, on Tuesday, granted additional six months’ time to complete the ongoing development work at the famousTekdi Ganesh Mandir situated near Sitabuldi Fort. Earlier, the High Court had directed the managing committee to complete the work by December 2019.
The managing committee had moved an application for extension of time in December 2019 itself. The High Court, while allowing the same, noted that during COVID-19 pandemic entire construction activity had come to halt and the temple was closed for ‘darshan’ and other allied activities.
The petitioner had alleged that development of the Temple and its premises was not being executed properly and in view of this he had sought appropriate directions from the court to the Trustees of the Temple. Responding to the grievance made by the petitioner, the court had ordered an inspection by the City Corporation and subsequently Trustees submitted revised development plan.
