Sixty-six trainee recruits belonging to 73rd batch of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) at National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) recently visited National Fire Service College (NFSC) at Rajnagar on Monday and get hands on training in disaster management. The training programme was inaugurated by NFSC director Ramesh Kumar. In the first session of the programme, deputy director of the NFSC, RS Chaudhari through a power point presentation explained in detail the geographical areas considered sensitive from earthquake, flood, Tsunami, typhoons etc.
During the programme, IRS officers also interacted with RS Chaudhari. In the next session; the trainees were given information about the relief and rescue operations carried out during disaster management. In the next phase, the IRS trainees were taken around the Fire Protection Lab and were informed of the recent researches in the fire management. A live demo of fire management was also given. The IRS trainees after first session stated that disaster management is essential in every walk of life because disaster can happen any time. Hence; everybody must now about relief and rescue operations. As IRS officers, it is more important for us to keep ourselves updated about all facets of disaster management.
