A Nagpur-based fake job placement agency named Crest Technology was busted under the investigation of Beltaordi police station and two of the accused were arrested by police on Friday.
As per police, the agency was run by five people- Akshay Kumar Aggarwal, YS Shyam Sundar, Himanshi Bhagwan, Gaurav Shrisagar, and Naina Chilwani- who used to dupe the people of Nagpur by promising them placement of government jobs and in return collected money from them.
As of now, only two people have been arrested, Akshay Ashok Kumar Aggarwal and Himanshi Bhagwan, who are under police custody. The rest of them are missing.
Assistant Police Inspector Gajendra Raut said, “So far, in Nagpur, almost 20-25 people have been cheated by the agency. The case has been registered under Indian Penal Code Section 420, 406 and 34.â€
“A total of 40 lac rupees is recovered till now from the accused,†the inspector added.
The agency had a tie-up with some company in Mihan but the investigation on that part is still on.
