The Nagpur University is launching its multi-event sports training Centre and it will be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr.Sanjay Dudhe on Monday. Director of Department of Sports and Physical Education of Nagpur University Dr.Sharad Suryavanshi informed that in university’s Laxminarayan Sports Centre, regular training for table tennis, karate and gymnastics will be given. He stated that the facility will be open to college and school students. Famous national table tennis trainer Deepak Kanetkar will guide the young paddlers. Vijay Ghichare,who is also Secretary of Vidarbha Karate Association will be handling the karate affairs while Yugbahadur Chhatri has been handed the responsibility of coaching of gymnasts.
Table tennis activities will be held in morning and evening session in a building adjacent to the Subhedar Hall while karate and gymnasts training will be imparted in evening session at varsity’s track pavilion premises. Players will be able to register themselves for the sport of their choice from 5 p.m. on December 28 at the designated centres.Application forms can be collected from Javed Rahman at University’s Sports and Physical Education department from 12 noon from 4 pm.Aadhar card, photo, and college’s identity cards must be attached to the application. Noted sports organizer Prof.Sanjay  Bhende will be chief guest on the occasion.Dr.Dhananjay Welukar,member of varsity’s Sports and Physical Education Council will be guest of honour.Shiv Chatrapati awardee and member of varsity’s Sports and Physical Education Council Bhavana Bhotmange and Dr.Vishakha Joshi will also grace the occasion.
